|Day 1:||Depart the USA on an international flight to Beijing, China (on own), crossing the International Date Line enroute. Meals will be served on the flight.|
|Day 2:||Arrive in Beijing, China's capital, with its rich history dating back more than 1,000 years before Christ, and transfer to hotel. Due to various flight arrival times, the day is free of activities and meals are on our own. Overnight in Beijing.|
|Day 3:||Our day starts with a morning half-day city tour including Tiananmen Square, which can accommodate over one million people. At the center of Beijing is the Forbidden City; its nearly 800 buildings and 9,999 rooms were home for 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors who ruled China for over 500 years. As we walk its grounds, marvel at the elegant palaces, pavilions, courtyards and gardens within its great walls. Then we continue to the ancient Hutong area for a bicycle rickshaw ride, a local kindergarten school visit and lunch with a Chinese family before we head back to our hotel. The evening is reserved for our welcome Peking Duck Dinner; overnight in Beijing.|
|Day 4:||This morning unwinds at the 7th Wonder of the World - the Great Wall of China! Climb its many steps and walk along its fortified expanses for excellent views and photo opportunities. Lunch will be served at The Wall after the tour. Then continue to the Ming Tombs, burial site of 13 Ming emperors. We will stop at a local jade factory for a demonstration of artisans at work before our return to Beijing for overnight. Dinner is on our own.|
|Day 5:||Whatís a trip to China without a visit to a Tea Market? Find out which type of tea is best for your lifestyle and for your health. Have a taste of all the different types of tea the proper way! We then continue with a visit of the Lama Temple and the Summer Palace. Dinner and overnight in Beijing.|
|Day 6:||We board ou morning flight to Xian, where we are greeted upon arrival by our local guide and then enjoy a city tour of this ancient capital for 11 dynasties in Chinese history. The evening is reserved for us to experience traditional food, song, dance and colorful period costumes - the fabulous Tang Dynasty Dumpling Dinner and show! Overnight in Xian.|
Our day begins with a tour of the magnificent History Museum, where over 6,000 life-sized terra-cotta warriors, horses and chariots of
the first Emperor Qin Shi Huang have stood for over 2,000 years. In the early 1970ís farmers unearthed some of these statues.
Today, walkways provide tourists with a birdís eye-view of Qinís army, each man and horse molded with his own distinct personality. Our
lunch will be served at the museum restaurant. Later,
a Mongolian Hot Pot Dinner awaits us in the evening. Ovenight in Xian.
The morning is free to do as we wish. In the afternoon, we will transfer to the airport for our short flight to Guilin and the legendary
Li River. After a long day, why not try one of those "to-die-for" foot massages? Then letís enjoy dinner at Rice Noodle House.

Today relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery as we sail down the magnificent Li River with its beautiful vistas! Then we visit Fubo Hill and Elephant Trunk. For dinner, the Green Tea House awaits us. Overnight in Guilin.
|Day 10:||After breakfast we board our morning flight to China's "second" capital, Shanghai. After checking into our hotel, we embark on an afternoon city tour that will introduce us to all the major sights including the Bund, Nanjing Road and Yu Yuan Gardens. Then we continue with a visit to a Pearl Workshop, where you will gain a bit of knowledge about this elegant gem, and maybe even find that special necklace or bracelet for your loved one. Whatís a trip to China without a visit to the Silk Market? Enjoy watching this hand-crafted art form and take some home for souvenirs. We will also visit other Shanghai attractions such as the Jade Buddha Temple and the Children's Palace where Chinese children gifted in the arts will welcome and perform for us! We end our day at this wonderful mosaic of China with dinner. An optional after-dinner show the world famous Chinese Acrobats can be arranged. Overnight in Shanghai.|
|Day 11:||A free day to do as we wish. Optional day trip to Suzhou, China's "Venice of the East", to tour this ancient city built over bridges and a myriad of canals. See the Grand Canal, Master of Nets Garden, the Panmen Gate and then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Shanghai. Dinner is on our own. Overnight in Shanghai.|
|Day 12:||After our final breakfast, pack your memories away as we head on back to the airport for our trans-Pacific flights home to the USA!|
