Our Lady of Peace
In Medjugorje, located in the former Yugoslavia, Our Blessed Mother continuously gives Her messages of peace, love, faith, conversion, prayer and fasting.

The small Herzegovina village of Medjugorje, southwest of Sarajevo, was virtually unknown to the outside world until 1981. On June 24th of that year, a Sunday, six teenagers reported that they had encountered the Blessed Virgin on a hillside near the village. They said they had seen a beautiful woman with dark hair and blue eyes who seemed to be about 25 years old. She was dressed in gray and white, with a white veil; her feet were in a froth of clouds, and an arc of stars appeared above her head. Til this day, the apparitions still continue.

The basic message is consistent: The Virgin stresses that God is present in this world and that prayer and repentance are needed to bring peace all over the world. We are each challenged to hear Her, to change our lives, and give glory to God.

Through this journey, get a glimpse of the beautiful country and people of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

10 Days - Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina
Itinerary
Day 1: Our spiritual journey begins as we depart USA for our transatlantic flight bound for Zagreb or Llubjana, Croatia (depending on airline used). Meals will be served on the flight.
Day 2: Upon arrival, our Tour Director meets and transfers us to our hotel. Dinner on our own. Overnight in Zagreb or Llubjana.
Day 3:

Day 4:
After breakfast, we depart for the Marian shrine of Trsat where we will celebrate Mass. It is believed that the angels brought the house from Nazareth from Loreto to this beautiful seaside town. Dinner and overnight in Opatija.

We continue heading south today as we travel to the beautiful medieval city of Split. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk through the maze of the palace and savor the lifestyle, converse with the locals and bargain for souvenirs to take home or try the fresh fruits and olive oil found at the local marketplace. Dinner and overnight in Split.
Day 5: Enjoy a city tour of Split which includes UNESCO’s heritage, Diocletian Palace and the Cathedral of St. Doimus, the town’s patron saint. Split is a city that has drawn both tourist and pilgrim since ancient times. The Roman Emperor Diocletian was born in nearby Salona in the mid-third century, and his seaside palace at Split is among the region’s most noteworthy sights. After Diocletian’s death in 313 AD, the palace became a residence for exiled Roman emperors and their families. The vast walled complex, covering more than seven acres, forms the city’s core. Nearby is the Venetian piazza, dating from the years of rule by Venice (1420-1797). In the afternoon, we travel three hours as we cross borders to Bosnia-Herzegovina to the village of Medjugorje. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 6:

Day 7:
The name Medjugorje is Slavic meaning "area between two mountains". It was here that Our Lady first appeared to six children on June 24, 1981 and is still appearing to this day. Our morning begins with a celebration of Mass at St. James Church. Then spend some private time walking around the village and get acquainted with the lifestyle of the local people.

Our Lady had promised to give 10 secrets each to the visionaries and she has been imparting them over the past 25 years. The three visionaries have received all 10, the other three have each received 9. The secrets pertain to the visionaries themselves, to the Church, to the sign, to all humanity, and to everyone, and to the whole world and to Medjugorje. Contemplate on Our Blessed Mother’s message of PEACE, FAITH, CONVERSION, PRAYER and FASTING. An evil which threatened the world, according to the seventh secret, had been eliminated through prayer and fasting according to Mirjana. Talks with one of the visionaries will be arranged, usually done in the back of the church. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.

Health permitting, we may want to climb Apparition Hill (Podbrdo Hill) with its bronze plaques depicting the mysteries of the rosary. Upon reaching the top, pray before the cross which commemorates the spot where Our Blessed Mother appeared on June 24, 1981 to the visionaries. Then climb Cross Mountain (Krizevac Mountain) where the villagers have built a 30 ft. cross on the anniversary of Jesus' crucifixion. In the evening, join the villagers once again and other pilgrims from around the world for the Croatian Mass at St. James Church. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 8: A day at leisure to do as we wish. Opt for a full day trip to the Adriatic city of Dubrovnik in Croatia. Known as the "Crown Jewel of the Mediterranean", our walking tour includes a visit to the Franciscan monastery housing one of the world’s oldest pharmacies, the old harbor, St. Laurence fortress, the Sponza and the Rector’s Palaces and the Basilica of St. Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 9: After breakfast, we travel back to Zagreb or Llubjana. Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour featuring the historic upper town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. Dinner and overnight in Zagreb or Llubjana (depending on airline used).
Day 10: Rise early for a very early morning departure to catch our flight back to the USA.
