Spread over 100 islands linked by over 600 bridges, it is often referred to as the "Venice of the North". We start the day by celebrating Mass at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, located at Nevsky Prospect, which houses a statue of Our Lady of Fatima and is also the oldest Catholic church in Russia. Then, our walking tour includes a visit to Kazanskiy Cathedral, home to the icon of Our Lady of Kazan, continuing by motorcoach on our panoramic city tour which includes the impressive Church of the Spilled Blood, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Admiralty, the Palace Square and many more. Dinner and overnight in St. Petersburg.
Day 6: After breakfast, we will visit Peter and Paul Fortress, which houses the crypt of the Russian emperors. (If you've watched the movie "Anastasia" starring Ingrid Bergman, you can't help but say "Wow!") Then the highlight of our tour, the famous Hermitage, which houses many treasures from the Czars’ era and is located in the Winter Palace. Dinner and overnight in
St. Petersburg.
Day 7: Day excursion to Peterhof, on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. A series of palaces and gardens, laid out by order of Tsar Peter the Great, and sometimes called the "Russian Versailles", is situated there. The palace-ensemble along with the city center is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight in St. Petersburg.
Day 8: We bid farewell to Russia as we depart for the airport to catch our return flight to the U.S. for a same day arrival.
